Dear Prospective Scout: Are ready to challenge yourself in new ways? Do you have what it takes to help lead your Troop of Boy Scouts as you take part in the excitement and adventure of indoor and outdoor activities that will help you develop skills that will serve you in the future? If so, we ask that you consider joining our Troop. Scouts are extraordinary. By following the Scout Oath and Law, you have agreed to challenge yourself to take a leading leadership role in your troop, community and your country. Take the first step and visit one of our meetings some time. We look forward to meeting you.
We meet at the South Hanover Elementary School each Monday from 7 - 8pm during the school year. There is no meeting if there is no school on Monday. Typically there will not be a Monday meeting if there was a weekend activity unless otherwise noted. Activity cancellation policy: We follow the Lower Dauphin School District closing policy. If school is canceled due to poor weather, there will be no activities that day. Weekend/holiday activities will be handled on a case by case basis.
Please see our Bullying Policy/Procedure and Incident Reporting Form. All Scouts must read and they and their parents/guardians must sign the acknowledgement and return to the Scoutmaster. BULLYING
We're all told that we should not make assumptions, however given the busy dynamic of a Troop, adult leadership must make a few assumptions. ***Scouts, parents, and leaders: We will assume that you have read and are familiar with the following documents:***

Boy Scouts get away from it all! They camp, hike, and fish in the great outdoors. They get together in troops, and try out new experiences. Boy Scouting is available to boys who are 11 through 17 years old, or who have earned the Arrow of Light Award, and have completed the fifth grade.

Boy Scouts have unique opportunities to learn new things and acquire skills values that are difficult to obtain anywhere else – skills that will remain with them the remainder of their lives.  From the challenges of mastering the specific requirements of their merit badges to practical camping and survival skills, the scouts can help make your boy a better adult.

Adult Volunteers Needed:  Scouting makes a direct and positive impact on your community by teaching positive values and leadership skills to youth. Join the individuals who support Scouting's mission.

Committee Members – meet to discuss the mission and the progress of the Troop.

Troop Leaders – Opportunities exist in helping with weekly meetings, assisting with troop trips, and becoming a merit badge counselor.
